Dr. Melissa Xanthopoulos is a clinical psychologist and Director of the CPAP Adherence Program in the Sleep Center in the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical and research interests focus on health behaviors in youth, with an emphasis on sleep, physical activity, and adherence to medical and behavioral interventions, such as positive airway pressure, as well as in youth with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Presentation Description
This presentation will describe an interdisciplinary approach to initiating positive airway pressure and supporting the maintenance of use of positive airway pressure with children and adolescents for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
